1Q65 - A Change of Seasons (2015 @ Blue Lotus Fine Art)

Everything shifts and changes, and often does so imperceptibly. Singapore is celebrating her 50th birthday, old places vanish, new ones take their place; and the artist has unwittingly taken his catmaSutra cat to its 10th edition. There is always pressure to let go of his beloved cat, and do something more predictably 'artsy'. But to the artist, the cat embodies what art should be - to provide a persistent singular perspective (albeit from a local street cat point-of-view), subjected to all the cultural and 'internet-things' that make the planet swirl even faster. What remains is us, as individuals standing in the flow of unrelenting changes, to remain true to who we are. That has always been the artist's theme - to remember the 'fresh-face' innocence and 'devil-may-care' bravado that comes with being a child again. For the artist, 'A Change of Seasons' is a way of looking back and accepting the lyrical flow of themes and journeys that lead us here to this spot - just so that we can start again. Meow!

catmaSutra 9 Lives & a Lullaby (2013 @ Utterly Art)
“The cat has nine lives”, so the saying goes, “three for playing, three for straying, and three for staying”. In the latest edition of Paul Koh’s catmaSutra cat art exhibitions, the artist takes us through different ‘cat lives’ weaved together by a simple lullaby of love, imagination and quiet enthusiasm. From tongue-in-cheek pieces like “Sense and Sensibility”, “Saving a Rainy Day”, the irreverent introduction of the “rebellious” cat Samurai, to more reflective pieces such as the “A Window Away” and “A Lullaby”, catmaSutra 9 has something furry lined up for everyone this festive season!
catmaSutra 8 - Ride with Me (2012 @ Utterly Art)
"Ride with Me" takes us away to a place where small things matter more than big ones - like getting ready for a dance in the rain, spending time waiting for the sun to rise, or hours watching birds and fishes glide through their universes. The catmasutra cats take us through a journey based on innocence, where imagination marries delight, freedom exudes playfulness, such that we can become a child again. We become the music that we are - a blissful symphonic harmony - when we stop to reacquaint ourselves with these moments.
catmaSutra 7th Heaven (2011 @ Utterly Art)
Bright, quirky, and capable of levitation, the seventh installation of catmaSuta cat art exhibition is once again back at Utterly Art. The seven year itch has only served to cook up more mischief as the catmaSutra cat takes you to that sweet spot of whimsical bliss and light-heartedness."If we stop and observe how life flows, we'll notice how the universe is made up of individual moments which when appreciated fully, gains a shape akin to a smile from the heart - a personal heaven." Paul's paintings take his audience through these moments using the cat as the perfect allegory to create a personal space that tugs at the heartstrings!
